Frequently asked questions
Don’t see your question here? Give us a call at (714) 797-2155 or send us a note — we’re always happy to talk it through.
Are you licensed and insured?+
Yes. Legendary Landscaping is a licensed California contractor (CSLB #1139149) and insured — verify us yourself at cslb.ca.gov before you ever pay a dollar. We provide certificates before work begins.
How long have you been doing this?+
Landscaping runs in the family. Gerardo learned the trade working alongside his father, and between the two generations there's over 30 years of hands-on experience in Orange County yards. We've built our name on real work and word of mouth — and we're glad to put you in touch with past customers for references on request.
How much does a paver patio cost in Orange County?+
It varies by project — typically about $15–$35 per square foot installed, depending on the paver material, site prep, and base work. We give you a free, itemized estimate so there are no surprises, and the price we quote is the price you pay unless you approve a change in writing.
How much deposit do you take?+
We follow California law: deposits never exceed 10% of the job or $1,000, whichever is less. You pay as the work gets done — never a large amount up front.
Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?+
In most OC cities, a wall over 4 feet (from the bottom of the footing to the top) needs a permit, and any wall supporting a slope or driveway can need one at any height. We pull the permits — you never file as an 'owner-builder' to cover for us.
Why does my yard flood or stay soggy after it rains?+
Most of Orange County has heavy clay soil that doesn't absorb water, so rain pools on the surface and around foundations. The fix is proper grading plus a drainage system that carries water to a real, legal outlet — not a pipe that ends in the dirt.
Can you replace my lawn with drought-tolerant landscaping, and are there rebates?+
Yes — it's one of our most popular services. Through MWDOC and SoCal Water$mart, OC residents can earn turf-replacement rebates (around $2/sq ft, with pre-approval required before removal) plus rebates for smart controllers and high-efficiency nozzles. We design your project to qualify and help you apply. Confirm current offers at mwdoc.com.
Will I get a written contract, and what about change orders?+
Every job gets a written contract with scope, materials, quantities, start/finish dates, and a payment schedule. If the job changes, you approve the work and the cost in writing first — no surprise line items.
What areas do you serve?+
We serve all of Orange County — Santa Ana, Anaheim, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and surrounding cities. Not sure if you're in our area? Just call.
